Krishna Das-Om Namah Shivaya
It was an autumn evening in Washington, D.C.—the air crisp with possibility, the sanctuary aglow with soft light and steady breath. I was seated beside my friend and fellow seeker, Jon Seskevich, as the room settled into a collective stillness. Then, from the hush, Krishna Das stepped forward—hunched over his harmonium, his voice carrying both weariness and infinite compassion. What unfolded that night wasn’t just a concert, but a transmission. Chant by chant, from “Om Namah Shivaya” to the closing silence, KD reminded us that Bhakti is not performance—it’s presence. Now, that same presence echoes through a newly released 2024 kirtan from Los Angeles. The form may shift, but the devotion? That’s forever.
Those who have enjoyed the blessing of catching Krishna Das live know how this professional recording comes very close to capturing the experience! Do yourself a favor and catch K.D. live sometime soon.

Chants in a Lifetime
Fierce Grace
Harvard professors Richard Alpert and Timothy Leary made countercultural history in 1963 when they were fired for conducting controversial psychedelic drug research. In the purple haze aftermath, Alpert journeyed to India and found his guru Maharaj Ji, who renamed him Ram Dass (“Servant of God”). Best known for his 1971 bestseller “Be Here Now,” which was a spiritual touchstone of the era, Ram Dass became an inspiration to people across the globe. Filmmaker Mickey Lemle—who has known his subject for more than twenty-five years—intersperses vivid archival footage from hippiedom’s glory days with intimate glimpses of Ram Dass today, as he continues to remake his life since being—in his words—”stroked” in 1997.
One Track Heart
In 1970, a young musician named Jeffrey Kagel walked away from the American dream of rock 'n' roll stardom-turning down the lead singer slot in the band that would become Blue Oyster Cult. He sold all his possessions and moved from the New York suburbs to the Himalayan foothills in search of happiness and a little-known saint named Neem Karoli Baba (Maharaj-ji). One Track Heart: The Story of Krishna Das follows Kagel's journey to India and back, his struggles with depression and drug abuse, and his eventual emergence as Krishna Das - the world-renowned spiritual teacher, chant master, and Grammy-nominated recording artist. Featuring interviews with Be Here Now author Ram Dass, Grammy-winning producer Rick Rubin (Beastie Boys, Metallica), New York Times bestselling author Sharon Salzberg, and two-time Pulitzer Prize nominee Daniel Goleman, as well as a score by Dinosaur Jr.'s J Mascis and Devadas, One Track Heart is the inspiring story.

WIRELESS PORTABLE HEADPHONES
OnePlus Buds Pro Headphone
This wireless Bluetooth model from OnePlus delivers very good sound quality and active noise reduction, combining elements of in-ear and earbud earphones. These earphones have an isolating design and an ambient sound monitoring feature; they will provide some muffling and electronic canceling of external noises and reduce the amount of sound that escapes from the earpieces. As such, they are best for those who want highly portable earphones that reduce the noise they hear from their surroundings or don’t want the sound from the earpieces to disturb others.
