The prominent bass line in “Down in the Tube station at Midnight”, coupled with the brilliant lyric was enough to sell me. The fervency, and bluesy vocal front man command of Weller was an obvious strong point. I came to appreciate the Jam asynchronously after a full swing with the Style Council.
